Objective of Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025
The key objectives of the Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025 are:
- To ensure equal opportunities for higher education in the NER.
- To improve the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in the North East.
- To encourage students to pursue professional and technical education.
- To ensure optimal use of the NER Budgetary Allocation.
Every academic year, 10,000 new scholarships will be awarded under this scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025
Type of Institutions
Only students admitted in:
- Universities/colleges under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 (with NAAC accreditation)
- Deemed Universities under Section 3 of UGC Act (with NAAC)
- Institutes of National Importance
- Institutions recognized by other statutory councils
are eligible.
Course Type
- Must be UG Degree Programmes (Regular/Full-Time mode only)
- Not applicable for Diploma, Distance, Open, Part-time, or Private courses
Academic Year
- Students currently admitted in the 1st year of their UG course in 2025–26 only
Income Limit
- Annual family income should not exceed ₹4.5 lakh
Domicile
- Students must have a valid Domicile Certificate from a recognized NER state.
Exclusions from Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025
The following categories are not eligible:
- Students enrolled in Open/Distance learning courses
- Students already availing any other scholarship
- Students admitted through management quota
- Students pursuing diploma or certificate courses
- Students with parental income exceeding ₹4.5 lakh
How to Apply for Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025?
Candidates must apply online through the National Scholarship Portal. Follow the steps below:
- Scroll down to the Important Web-Links section.
- Click on One-Time Registration and register using Aadhaar/EID.
- After registration, login and access the online application form.
- Fill in all required details and upload documents.
- Review the application and click on Submit.
- Take a printout of the final submitted form.
Note: OTR (One-Time Registration) is a 14-digit number issued using Aadhaar and is required for every year.
Selection Process for Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025
- Total Slots: 10,000 new scholarships per year
- Distribution: Based on state population census
- Unfilled Slots: If a state lacks eligible candidates, slots will be redistributed
- Reservation: As per Government of India rules for PwD and other categories
