Eligibility Criteria
Citizenship:
Applicants must be Indian citizens as defined under Articles 5 and 6 of the Constitution of India.
Age Limit (as on 31st July 2025):
- Maximum Age: 40 years
- Age Relaxation:
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years
Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university (as on last date of submission).
Computer Proficiency:
- Must hold a computer certificate of at least 3 months duration.
Language Proficiency:
- Must have working knowledge of the official language of Assam (Assamese).
Employment Exchange:
- Valid Employment Exchange Registration (Assam) is mandatory.

Selection Process of Gauhati High Court JAA Recruitment
The recruitment process will consist of the following three stages:
Stage I: Written Test (120 marks)
- Mode: OMR-based objective test
- Duration: 2 hours
- Syllabus:
- General English – 50 marks
- General Knowledge (including Computer) – 30 marks
- General Aptitude – 20 marks
- Assamese Language (Qualifying only) – 20 marks (must score at least 8 marks)
Note: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Stage II: Computer Skill Test (35 marks)
Components:
- Typing Test (20 marks): Paragraph typing to assess speed and accuracy
- Word Processor & Spreadsheet Proficiency (15 marks)
Shortlisting: 1:5 ratio for Stage II
Stage III: Viva-Voce (15 marks)
- Candidates shortlisted in 1:3 ratio after combined scores of written and computer tests
- Final merit will be based on:
- Written Test: 100 marks
- Computer Test: 35 marks
- Viva-Voce: 15 marks
- Total: 150 marks
